Hovercraft Media Frenzy!

Our thanks go out once again to the Lincolnshire Showground for use of their grounds for a hectic day of filming.

It started as a relatively quiet uneventful thursday morning. We were looking forward to heading out for a copy of the Lincolnshire Echo as we knew our article was due to go into the Thursday issue.

Over a leisurely morning coffee we took a call from the BBC news requesting a filming session for the afternoon, so we asked them to confirm time scales with their reporters whilst we rang the Lincolnshire Showground for permission to pop along with a film crew. No problem. The call came back from what we assumed would be the BBC only it was ITV wanting to do the very same thing!

Arrangements were made and we had an hour to get ready and along to the Showground, when BBC radio then rang and asked if they could also meet us there! To say it was a hectic day of it would be an understatement! Very exciting though... even though it was only 1 degree outside and snow began to fall by the end of the session...brrrr.

We watched in anticipation that evening for the news reports... then took an amazing amount of calls from friends and family who'd seen the moment of glory :) Hot line or what! Smiles all round, and even more so today when the website viewings and enquiries have both increased! Fabulous!!

Lincolnshire Showground

Many thanks to the Lincolnshire Showground for their friendly hospitality today. Pictured are George Taylor - Showground Manager, Susie Parker - Events Co-ordinator and Richard Reeve of the ground staff.

Ade took the hovpod along to the Lincolnshire Showground this afternoon and it didn't take much persuading to get the staff to have a go! Including the on site police dog section too! We're hoping to spend more time at this fabulous venue as they have the perfect space to play :)

Zooming across their grassland was great fun, and got lots of attention from the traffic on the A15 - some even pulled into the entrance to stop and watch! Everyone was amazed at how smooth the ride was, even over the deepest tractor lines! Great fun was had by all, and watch this space... cos hoping there'll be lots more!

Fun Rides

Fun rides... with the thermals on!! How cold was it today doing our fun rides.... brrr! nippy to say the least. Today we were at Hemswell Sunday Market in Lincolnshire and it was freezing! Not so bad when you get the adrenalin rush, but toes like ice cubes when stood chatting to customers :) Still... managed to get a sunny shot when the clouds cleared for... oh about... ten seconds! Good old british weather... ha! bring on the snow!

Collection of the new toy!

Well here we are collecting the new toy - doesn't it look fabulous?!
After spending the day with the lovely Hov Pod people we set off on our journey home. And what an experience that was - I've never seen people hanging out of car windows before to get a better view! Mind you, not that I blame them cos it does look spectacular, and not the sort of thing you see on the M1 every day! Cracking open the bubbly to toast the new craft later, so the Hov Pod won't be the only thing floating on air!!
